Jane Austen truly was one of the greats, and her influence on the film industry in particular has thrilled me for years. Yes, I may proudly display my nerd-dom when it comes to science fiction and fantasy, but I am equally proud of my deep and abiding love for many of the film adaptations of Jane Austen's work (and I like the books too!).

We frequently re-watch various Austen adapted films: Paltrow's "Emma", Thompson's "Sense and Sensibility", both the BBC version and the Knightley version of "Pride and Prejudice". My latest love, and it is a strong love, is the adaptation of "Persuasion" featuring Sally Hawkins. I watch the ending of that film at least once every couple of weeks. I just love it.

The Jane Austen films are always good for witty and intelligent dialogue, breath-taking scenery, and gorgeous music.

Oh dear ME that's such a dreamy movie and the soundtrack is so pretty. Each scene is shot so beautifully.
I still can't help making 'Keira face' when I watch any movie with her, though. I stick out my lower jaw in a big underbite. She's like a stunning skinny bulldog. I know, I'm weird.

Oh Jane! There is no other like her and can you believe that I didn't discover her till I was 27? Have you seen her latest adaptation of Jane Eyre??? What a beautiful feast for the eyes.
much love to you my Fanciful Friendling
