She never dreamed she would grow old.
She felt young even today.
And in her heart of hearts, she certainly was.
She sat pondering this in that great big old house, that once was a home to everyone in her family...
Now, she lived in it alone.
Well, actually...
Everyone in the small village thought she was alone.
But, she wasn't.
She still skipped about, as if she were a girl of 12 -
And would run through the open pasture out back, and into the woods to her secret hiding place...
Everything felt to her, as cozy as cozy could be.
As beautiful as beautiful could be.
At night, when it was time for bed, someone else led the way up the rickety staircase...
And never ever did she feel alone.
Not even for a day.

V,
I love visiting here! Sometimes I forget to check here and then I see the little button on your sidebar and think Oh! What have I been doing with my life? I neeeeed to visit! I just love the mystery and intrigue you provide over here. And I also think that not as many people check this blog, so it's kind of like a secret little place for only a few...teehee just my thoughts :)
Thanks for sharing, lovely story and pictures, as always!

Love your stories through the secret keyhole. Always beautifully dreamy with a gothic feel to them.

Oooo! I see the two ghost girls in the corner of the bedroom. (Gosh! I think I come here often enough but I still miss being here on the day of the actual post. The month of July has flown!) I did watch 'Woman in Black' with Daniel Radcliff. It was very much like the house in the photos for this post...creepy...with ghost children hither and yon...never knowing when you were going to be sneaked up on.
